Homecoming Week!

This past weekend was our annual Homecoming weekend at Ohio Northern! This has been my favorite weekend of the year since I was a freshman, and I cannot believe that this year was my last! I love the traditions of our little village, and it is so fun to see all the excitement throughout campus.

I started the excitement a little early on Thursday night. Many of you might not know, but I am a very big Marvel fan. The “Avengers: Endgame” encore showing was set to roll into theaters that weekend, and I was sad knowing that I would not have time to go see it with all of the Homecoming events; however, I happened to see that there was an early release showing on Thursday night. I quickly hopped in my car and made the drive to Findlay for a solo movie date to see one of my favorite movies of the Marvel franchise. Call me crazy, but I thoroughly enjoy going to the movies by myself. My little brother made fun of me for going alone, but the introvert in me had the best time.

Classes felt like they went on forever on Friday, but we finally reached the end of the school day and I was so excited! Every Homecoming weekend, the University Singers and Chamber Singers have a concert in Presser to welcome the alumni back. I am part of Chamber Singers, so I got ready for our concert and made my way to Presser for that. We have a new choral director and he has made so much progress with both choirs, even in the short time he has been here. We had an amazing concert! Afterward, I went home and had a movie night with my roommates and our close friend Emma.

Saturday I was up bright and early to go work at admissions for any alumni that wanted to take a tour and show their families around campus! We ended up only having to stay till 10:30 a.m., which was music to my ears because I got to fit in a little nap before heading to the Theta house for an alumni tailgate before the football game. At the Theta house, I was ecstatic to be reunited with my big and G-big, Alli and Kara. I had not seen them in so long, so it was very exciting to get to spend the day with them and have them back on campus. We all headed over to the football game together, and then I met up with my boyfriend and a few more friends to watch the game with. Later that night, we had some friends over to play some games before heading out to the bar.

Overall, it was a wonderful weekend that I will cherish forever! I cannot believe it was my last Homecoming as an ONU student. I hope that one day I will be able to come back as an alumna and get to experience the excitement on the other side.
